Psyche Chimere Models a New Corset From Corsets-UK

Corset Story mailed Psyche Chimere a spectacular steampunk corset all the way from Britain.

She is planning on wearing this to Dorian's Parlor (July 20) and SteamStock (July 27 in Richmond, CA)!

(editor's note:  She commented that it's not tightened all the way as the corset still needs a bit of breaking in yet.)

Psyche Chimere as a Voice Actress.

The Shadow Queen, Psyche Chimere, will soon be working as a voice actress.  She will be voicing two major characters and two bosses for an upcoming PC game from Kisareth Studios.   After all, she finds a spare nano-second to do one more project every now and then.  

Arcadian Clockwork: Steampunk Music in Austin, Texas

Psyche Chimere

Arcadian Clockwork brought truly excellent Steampunk vocalists together from both coasts and the heart of Texas all presented in one of our favorite Goth Clubs and live venues, Elysium in Austin, Texas.  From the East Coast came a Steampunk/Cyberpunk Siren, Psyche Chimere, blending an opera trained voice with a unique and masterful synth-electro soundtrack and lyrics that blend science fiction with madness and gothic horror with Adams Family styles of humor.  From the West Coast came a superb cellist and vocalist, Unwoman, (well known for touring with Voltaire) singing songs of the trials and tribulations of life, love, and loss from very unusual perspectives.  From Texas came Darwin Prophet, veteran of Pagan Festivals (as vocalist with Velvet Hammer), professional session work, and now performances at Steampunk Festivals and concert events singing about topics from her own bizarre imagination and occasional odes to the great poet and extreme radical Oscar Wilde.

Each performed for  about a 45 minute set with excellent dance music and videos from DJ Russ Argo before, between, and after each with a dance to round off the evening.  Elysium is a very unusual structure so the acoustics can get a little strange in pool table and sitting areas at the furthest remote corners, but in areas of the club that can clearly view the stage, the sound system was as excellent as the vocals delivered through it.  This made for an excellent performance, yet many chose to stay at tables around the floor before the stage , so others took advantage of this to dance in ecstasy to the music presented on the dance floor which forms the space in front of the stage.  This included Psyche Chimere and Darwin Prophet (along with support staff) who gave an entertaining bit of floor burning while their opposite number was performing.

 The Vendors were set up in the back area where pool tables turned into mesas of hot Steampunk and tables around the edge presented leatherwork, hats, goggles, weapons, and magazines full of glamorous Steampunk pinup models.  Ben Hamby and friends presented items so attractive, even this writer fell prey to their allure.  A Steampunk hatter seemed to be putting out fine wares as were others with excellent pouches, bracers, and other beautiful offerings.

Overall it was a great concert with really interesting vendors and a great DJ.  If you missed it, all I can say is, you should have found a way to drop in for this… really!

It appears that Psych Chimere and Unwoman performed the very next weekend at the Watch City Festival and are both scheduled next to perform at Steampunk World’s Fair on May 17th – 19th, 2013.  Darwin Prophet is currently scheduled to perform at The Time Traveler’s Ball on June 15th, 2013.

So, the guy who masters all of Psyche Corporation's music, not only hosts a cool radio show, The Last Exit For The Lost (radio show), which plays Psyche Corporation all the time, but has just started a new talk show, dealing with the paranormal, lost civilizations, alternative science, and such, and uses Whirring World from Psyche Corporation as the closing theme. The Shadow Queen Rocks the House at Ikkicon VII

Psyche Chimere, front woman for Psyche Corporation, performed as the headliner musical performance at Ikkicon VII this last Saturday.   Earlier in the day she led and taught a "Learn to POI Meetup" group on two occasions and gave an interactive lecture on the current real science and state of the art involving connecting the human brain directly or indirectly to computer mainframe operations.

The concert was not well advertised and many attendees actually thought it was a speaking event for some new anime they were unfamiliar with, but when Psyche Chimere's incredible voice began pouring out into the hallway from the concert stage, people began flowing in to see where this nectar of the Gods (or Shadow Queen in this case) was coming from.  Even some of the other musical performers and professional musicians attending the convention wandered in and appeared to be enjoying the concert immensely.

As this was the first time Psyche Corporation was presented in this part of the country, many guests were surprised and puzzled at first, but then became intensely interested and began wandering over to the merchandising table (which this writer was manning) to buy every album they could get their hands on.  After the concert, they got albums autographed and expressed their appreciation to Psyche for the performance, but she had to leave rather quickly due to a VIP Pass only meet and Greet being scheduled immediately afterwards.

Those who did not have time to get autographs were assisted with that either just before or just after the VIP Meet and Greet.  The fans then lined up to get their picture taken with the "Shadow Queen" and I was more than happy to learn and use whatever I-phone , camera , or other device they carried so as to give them a few photos with the artist that they could take home with them.  They seemed to be really enjoying this and were so reluctant to disperse that, in order to avoid a fire hazard blocking the hall, the con staff had to move this informal "Photo Op" group to a different location where Ms. Chimere continued to answer their questions, discuss future possibilities (most wanted her to perform at conventions in their home area or state) and finally ended with hugs all round before dispersing.

I think it is safe to say, she managed to build a new, diverse and loyal following among Ikkicon VII anime convention attendees from many different states.

It is Tuesday, and I am behind on preparations for the apocalypse. The thing is, having been a creature of darkness for centuries without having gone to any of the apocalypse drills, I'm just not feeling up to it. You people have never appreciated the work that goes into creating an apocalypse. We have to go out there in the freezing cold and jump up and down for hours, smoking two packs of cigarettes in each mouth at the same time, every Saturday, so that your final days can be that much more polluted. Frankly, it's disheartening to be expected to rain fire and brimstone down on Friday when no one has written a single "Hey I noticed you were really hurting the environment the other day when you were dragging that gangrenous section of road kill into the water supply. I want you to know I saw that, and it will be remembered with trepidation and horror." No. You expect apocalypses to just fly out of my butt with absolutely no effort. And now you want the world destroyed by Friday. I have a day job you know. I have a life. I don't just sit around for millennia planning the fine details of your apocalypse as if I have nothing else to do. Generation Me, indeed. Everything has to be big bad and THIS week. And if even one of you is left alive on Saturday, I'm going to get an earful from my supervisor. Freaking impossible demands, you humans have.

Performance (Indoctrination) at Ikkicon This Year!!!

Great News!

It is now confirmed that the Shadow Queen, Psyche Chimere, evil genius and beautiful, dancing, songbird of Psyche Corporation, will indeed be performing this year (Dec. 28th -30th) at one of the largest anime conventions going, Ikkicon in Austin, Texas.  She will be bringing her operatic Dark Steampunk Victorian dystopian Science fiction type fairy tales to the stage (not to mention her lovely dancing as she perform!) as we ring in the new year!  Mark your calendars!  Fire up your steam powered broom sticks!  light the coal oil burners on your airships and start heading for Austin, Texas for this New Year's Eve bash that is Ikkicon!  Don't forget... the city motto of Austin, Texas is "Keep Austin Wierd!"  Just our kind of place!

The "Amazing Dancing and Contorting Songbird"

This is a good video showing how the Sahdow Queen uses hypnotic dance to accentuate her heart breakingly beautiful voice.  The video is from a performance at the Steampunk World's Fair 2012.  There are inexplicable technical problems at one point in sound video sync on Youtube, but it still works very well for the intended purpose.    "neat footage of Crime from YuenGuon"
